People pose as Manx Telecom employees
Police are warning of a new scam currently circulating the Island.
Calls are being made by people claiming to be Manx Telecom employees.
The caller explains that additional costs have been incurred by the bill payer, usually a small amount, which needs to be paid or the telephone service will be suspended.
This is prompting people to provide card details to pay the so-called bill.
Manx Telecom is assuring the public it does not make such calls to the public and tells customers to never provide bank details over the phone in this manner.
