Don't let where you park cost a life
Police are warning motorists to think carefully about where they park after issuing 65 advisory notices in one area of Douglas in just two days.
Last week, a fire engine couldn’t get to a 999 call in the Drives Area of Douglas – Mona Drive, Empress Drive and Castle Drive – because of illegally parked cars.
Sergeant Stephen Lapsley of the Roads Policing Unit says the issue could cost someone their life if the emergency services are delayed, and so officers have been targeting the area to make sure it’s passable.
He says he sympathises with residents, but the situation can’t continue:
