Police would like to lead on border agency - chief constable

Concept agreed by CoMin earlier this year

The chief constable wants police to lead the creation of a new border agency, but says it's a decision for politicians to make.

A force to protect the Island's borders from external threats was agreed by the Council of Ministers earlier this year.

Government is deciding how such an agency would operate, and which services should run it.
