Political correspondent changes his mind

Manx Radio's Senior Political Correspondent, David Callister (pictured), has changed his mind and will try for a second time to gain a seat on the Legislative Council.

At the same time former police officer Simon Graley, who finished bottom of Tuesday's poll, has pulled out.

But Pam Crowe, who is seeking re-election, and former international businessman Dick Horsnell have confirmed to Manx Radio they will also be in the frame.

After Tuesday morning's vote in the House of Keys, in which he fell two short of the 13 needed, Mr Callister said he wouldn't be involved in any further ballots.

However, the encouragement he received in the hours after the election has led him to reconsidered his position (audio file attached):

Nominations close tomorrow evening, and the election will be held at the sitting of the House of Keys in twelve days time.
