Retailer vexed by 'lack of consultation'
A Port Erin shop owner has expressed his frustrating over 'a lack of consultation' with local businesses prior to the regeneration of the town's centre.
Mantons Cards boss, Chris Beards, says the works had a 'terrible effect' on his business, and is considering looking for compensation.
The Department of Infrastructure held several meetings with the Port Erin Traders Association before the start of the scheme in January this year.
It was completed at the end of May, with modern paving installed through the Station Road shopping area, along with new street furniture and lighting.
Mr Beards says he only found out about the major refurbishment the day before the work began:
