But chair says high street remains 'vibrant'
The chair of Port St Mary Commissioners says the closure of the newsagent and post office is a 'wakeup call' for the village.
Torden Stores announced it was closing earlier this month.
Jean Teare says residents have raised concerns with the local authority about having to travel to Castletown or Port Erin to use post office services.
But she believes Port St Mary has a 'strong' high street with new businesses bringing 'vibrancy'.
