Post office cuts to be considered

Chair says people must have their say

The public will be asked to consider reduced delivery days in a consultation over the future of Isle of Man Post Office.

Residents will be given the chance to share their concerns as the board develops a five-year strategy aimed at reversing falling revenue.

A significant decline in mail volumes and falling demand for traditional services are being blamed for a forecasted loss this year.

The Communication Workers Union (CWU), which represents postmen and women in the Island, has voiced fears pensions and jobs could be at risk.
