Sub postmaster terminates contract after 19 years
Postal services in Port Erin could be disrupted.
The sub postmaster, at the post office on Church Street, has given notice to terminate his contract after 19 years.
Isle of Man Post Office says it will now try to find someone else to provide counter and/or parcel collection services.
Chairman Stu Peters said: “On behalf of the board I would like to thank the outgoing sub postmaster for the services he has provided on our behalf and that of our commercial partners for the past 19 years.”
The post office has started a tender exercise, for a fixed contract until 31 March 2025, and says it’s ‘preferred outcome’ is for a single supplier to offer all services.
The closing date for expressing an interest in the tender is 12pm on 28 April.
