There’s another attempt to derail plans to privatise pre-school education when Tynwald sits later this month.
Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan will ask the court to back a motion calling for the Education Department to produce a strategy for universal, teacher-led nursery provision.
His motion asks the department to report back to the court no later than July this year – just weeks before the planned changes are due to come into effect.
On Tuesday, the House of Keys narrowly voted against discussing a motion from Brenda Cannell MHK which would have forced a debate on the issue.
