The pill to stay free for women
The health department has stressed a planned rise in prescription charges will not apply to contraceptive medicine.
It was announced last week that contributions towards the cost of drugs, eye tests and dental treatment are set to increase later in the year - and fewer people will be exempt from paying the fees.
But bosses say they've received a number of queries over whether things like contraceptive pills and implants will still be freely available.
They emphasise that the new scheme continues to exclude any such items from cost to the patient.
