Victims of two conmen who used a Manx-registered company to defraud millions of pounds will find out this week if they’ll get any money back.
Seventy-one-year-old Malcolm Barber of Wallasey on Merseyside and Morecambe businessman Terry Warrington were both jailed after their companies registered in the Isle of Man, the Bahamas and Guernsey collapsed in 2007.
A police investigation found the men had used £5 million of investors' money to make high-risk loans, but all the money was lost when the firms went bust.
This week, both men are back at Preston Crown Court for a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing expected to last five days.
A judge will rule how much they made from the fraud and what assets can be seized to compensate victims.
