Department now looks to expand events
The Department of Economic development says it hopes to have a new commercial promoter for the TT in time for next year’s festival.
Yesterday (FRIDAY), the department announced it was giving up plans to hold a TT World Series after a £190,000 study by a UK consultancy firm.
Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says there’ll now be a tender process for companies who can run – and hopefully expand – the TT and Classic TT.
He says it’s time to move commercial aspects such as licensing, broadcast rights and retail away from the government
