Proposals on new driver limitations

An initiative which would prevent newly qualified drivers from going over 50 miles per hour has been suggested as the Department of Transport asks for views on new regulations governing driving tests.

The proposals include new drivers displaying R-plates for an extra year and making learners sit a computerised hazard perception test.
