Follows comments in investigation report
The Island’s Public Services Commission has apologised to Onchan Commissioners.
It comes after the local authority requested a public apology over what it felt were ‘inaccurate and potentially defamatory’ comments made in a PSC investigation report.
It all centred on a complaint made by Onchan resident Rae Hamilton, which was upheld, over an alleged conflict of interest relating to the closure of squash courts in Onchan Park.
His complaint, however, was made against Department of Infrastructure officers.
The PSC says it did not imply or intend to imply any wrongdoing by the commissioners or its officers and regrets any offence inadvertently caused.
PSC chairman, MHK John Shimmin, hopes the apology ‘draws a line’ under the issue and stresses no current commissioners are being criticised in the report.
