Bereaved dad backs skatepark appeal

Community project is salute to sons

A bereaved father's given his backing to an appeal to raise £75,000 for a community project in the name of his late sons.

Jacques and Torin Lakeman from Port St Mary died in 2014 from an ecstacy overdose, and their father Ray has since campaigned to raise public awareness of drug use among young people.

Proposals for a new community skatepark in the village have been unveiled on social media - it would be named JACTOR Park, in a merging of the boys' names.

Students, parents and commissioners are invited to the project's fundraising launch on Thursday (29 June) at Scoill Phurt Le Moirrey from 3.30pm.
