The Manx public doesn't back privatisation of services currently run by the government.
Eighty-six per cent of respondents to the Manx People Power Survey, conducted on behalf of marketing expert Professor Hugh Davidson, said the government was the best agency to run the prison in Jurby.
Meanwhile, seventy-nine per cent felt ports and harbours should continue to be operated by a public body.
Professor Davidson says even services for which there was the least support saw a majority wanting government to continue running them:
