Work on utility feeds taking place
Pedestrians will be unable to use Pulrose Bridge for two weeks from Tuesday.
The closure will enable work to proceed on the many utility feeds that cross the bridge including electrical, water and telecoms.
The work is one of the most complex elements of the scheme and includes renewing and maintaining the electrical services that link Pulrose Power Station with the rest of the Island and beyond.
During the closure there will be a lit and signed diversion route via Groves Road, NSC footbridge and the Bowl car-park.
Access for pedestrians into the Bowl, or Riverside Trading Estate from Peel Road, will be unaffected.
During the closure period work will also continue to create a new pedestrian route across the upstream side of the new bridge.
