Chief Minister reveals scope of media attention
The Chief Minister has launched a robust defence of the Isle of Man against what he described as a 'deliberately orchestrated attack' from the international media.
Howard Quayle this morning (Tuesday) told Tynwald the Manx government would not be complacent when the Island's integrity was challenged and was determined to 'create an Island of enterprise and opportunity' displaying high levels of international cooperation.
In reply to a question from his Middle colleague Bill Shimmins, Mr Quayle said the Island could not over-estimate the impact the release of the Paradise Papers - which thrust the world of offshore finance firmly under the spotlight - has had on its reputation.
The Chief Minister also stated who he had been dealing with media-wise in defending the Island:-
Completion of assisted dying bill 'the most significant moment of 2025'
Keep dogs away from Garwick Beach for next few days
Cost of sending a letter on the Island to increase in January
New male red panda coming to the Curraghs Wildlife Park
