Questions on Pinewood, flooding and buses in Keys

The House of Keys sits later this morning – with a newly-signed deal to buy part of a movie studio firmly on the agenda.

There are six bills, twenty-two questions for written answer and a further three for written answer when MHKs meet today.

The questions cover plenty of ground – but eight of them will centre on the deal to buy almost 10 percent of Pinewood Shepperton studios in the UK.

Alf Cannan, Kate Beecroft and Howard Quayle will all quiz Treasury Minister Eddie Teare about the agreement.

Also the subject of questions today are Mr Teare’s recent visit to Japan, the cost of residential care homes, recent floods and the ongoing bus drivers’ dispute.

MHKs will consider new laws on sunbeds, financial services, licensing, moneylenders, cash sent by mail, and income tax.

The Legislative Council also sits today to discuss bills about companies, third world debt, planning and children and young people.

You can hear live coverage of this morning’s House of Keys questions on Manx Radio’s AM1368 frequency from 10am.
