Wayne Knighton hoping to honour Keighley

A Ramsey family is trying to raise money for the Guide Dogs Association in the UK with the hopes of naming a puppy after their dog that recently passed away.

Wayne Knighton is a blind resident who had his pooch Keighley until December last year.

The dog was nine at the time when he picked up an illness.

For Wayne, Keighley helped him gain his independence to go out on his own and to interact with people.

He says he was preparing the home for Keighley to retire when the unthinkable happened:

Fundraising

Ramsey Library is running a puppy name sweepstake with a hamper worth around £30.

There will be a ‘pup’ quiz and raffle at The Swan in Ramsey (date to be confirmed), the quiz will be dog themed.
