Event raises money for cancer charity

Island supporters of a UK cancer charity will descend on the NSC today (26 Aug) for an event to mark the culmination of their year's fundraising.
More than 850 people in a record 60 teams are taking part in a 24 hour walking relay, in aid of Cancer Research UK.
A family fun day has been organised all afternoon, including themed laps, a Miss Relay competition, bouncy castles, games, stalls - and the chance to take a virtual reality tour of a research laboratory.
The Isle of Man edition of Relay for Life, now in its eighth year, sets off at midday, led by cancer survivors - who will also complete the final lap to round-off the event on Sunday.
