Possible solution to carbon emissions created by growing population
Repurposing vacant office buildings into homes may be the key to tackling rising carbon emissions.
The Climate Change Transformation Team was asked by Tynwald's Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee how future population increases would affect the island's goal to be carbon neutral by 2050.
In July, the government unveiled a 15-year plan aiming to grow the population to 100,000 by 2037.
Whilst giving evidence to the Standing Committee, members of the Climate Team were asked how the resultant carbon emission increases could be offset.
