The new-look Silverdale complex is being officially opened today (Wednesday).
Major works have been undertaken to refurbish the restuarant and improve facilities for visitors, in a project spearheaded by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
Silverdale is also the new home of Jimbo's Manx ice creams. The firm, run by Jim Kearns, has moved its operation from Snugborough trading estate to the old corn mill at Silverdale, and will offer visitors the opportunity to see how ice cream is made.
Local commissioners, VIPs and senior officials from government will be at the event, in Ballasalla.
The site will be declared open by chairman of DEFA's Forestry Directorate Tim Crookall MHK.
Time of opening ceremony: 12 noon.
