'Regent no orthodontic monopoly'

Regent has the contract for under 18s

Health officials say whilst Regent Dental Care is currently the sole provider of orthodontic care for children, this does not prevent other contracts being issued in the future.

Regent Health Services Ltd will begin administering orthodontic treatment for under 18s on October 30th, taking over from the Central Community Health Centre on Westmoreland Road in Douglas.

The organisation "met the requirements of the service specification, to provide NHS orthodontic services".

But Melissa Pinckard, manager of Primary Care Commissioned Services, says they don't have a monopoly:
