Relay For Life completed

Twenty-four hour event finished at midday

A 24-hour fundraising marathon for Cancer Research UK has drawn to a close at the NSC in Douglas this lunchtime.

Around 1,000 people took part in the 2016 Relay for Life, which started at noon on Saturday in bright sunshine.

Walkers continued through torrential rain overnight, with the field inside the track serving as a campsite for teams and their supporters.

Several hundred people cheered home a team of cancer survivors who led the final lap.

Last year's event raised more than £120,000 for the charity.
