Relay for Life on tour!

There's a chance to find out more about this year's "Relay for Life" today (Sat)

Organising committee members and supporters of the event, which is encouraging people to join the fight against cancer, will be touring the Island on an open top bus.

The event itself is a 24 hour non competitive relay which takes place at the NSC on Saturday August 24th and its main message is "celebrate .,.. remember and fight back"

The bus will have face-painters and music on-board, will be handing out flyers, stickers and balloons and a chance to have your picture taken with some popular "superheroes".

Chair of the organising committee, Nicola Walkingshaw, says the relay itself is the culmination of fund-raising teams have done throughout the year . .

The open top bus will be in Castletown Square at 10.30am, Port Erin town centre at 11.45am, Peel Promenade at 1pm, Ramsey town centre at 2.45pm, St Ninian’s Lower School at 5.15pm, Douglas promenade (Central and Queens) at 5.45pm. It will be followed by a social night at the Queen’s Pub, Douglas.
