Charity founder believes scheme would reduce fly-tipping on the Island
The founder of an environmental charity is renewing his call for the disposal fee for large electrical goods such as fridges and washing machines to be built into the purchase price.
Bill Dale from Beach Buddies says the blight of fly-tipping is a long-standing problem, which won't go away while some people can avoid paying the fee by dumping items in the countryside or over cliffs.
Several local authorities have recently reported fly-tipping incidents, while Manx Radio understands a large flatscreen TV was recently dumped at the Lhen.
He says his proposal is the simplest way of eradicating the problem:
