Call for police to do more to dismantle drug gangs in Pulrose
A resident in Pulrose has told Manx Radio they want to see more being done in the area to protect children from illegal activities.
It comes after 'used exposed needles' were found on the play park, and on the playground of Manor Park School, over the Easter weekend.
The person – who wishes to remain anonymous – has called for police to focus on dismantling ‘drug gangs’ in the area saying it’s ‘common knowledge’ who the dealers are.
The resident adds it's very concerning to see the increase of drug use in the estate due to, what they say is, a to lack of enforcement from the police.
In response to the complaint the Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed that needles are sometimes found in public places and this was one such occasion.
It adds it is not always clear what purpose those items had been used for but, regardless of such, they could always pose a risk if not carefully handled and disposed of.
