Steam Packet engineers to work on issue overnight
The Steam Packet Company has issued an apology to customers following the cancellation of today's delayed sailings.
In the last half an hour Manannan underwent testing after a day of technical issues, with the company saying that following this, 'a final decision to sail or not sail' would be made.
It has now been confirmed that today's delayed 3pm crossing and the 7:15pm return have been cancelled.
The fast-craft had to return to Douglas less than an hour into this morning's crossing to Liverpool after suffering a control fault with one of its generators.
Engineers and workshop staff are going to continue to attempt to resolve the issue overnight.
An update regarding tomorrow morning's 7:15am sailing - and its return leg - will be issued by 5:30am.
