Department of Infrastructure clarifies re-surfacing work

The Department of Infrastructure has clarified what will be happening during re-surfacing work around Quarterbridge.

highway improvement scheme gets under way next week to resurface the section of the A1 between Quarterbridge and the roundabout at Braddan Bridge.

Work will be carried out overnight to reduce traffic disruption on the busy route.

The road will be closed between 6.30pm and 5am, from Monday 14 September to Saturday 26 September, though access to properties will be maintained.

Parking will be suspended on the alternative route via Saddle Road between its junctions with Vicarage Road and the A5 New Castletown Road during the time the work is in progress, 6.30pm to 5am.

The resurfacing work is designed to improve ride quality of the road and deal with problems caused by standing water.

Further kerbing and footway improvements are currently being carried out from the rugby club to Braddan Road.
