The headteacher of Arbory Primary School is to retire in December.
Phil Manton, who has held the position since January 2007, says he will miss the children, who he describes as 'wonderful'.
After a 35-year career in teaching, Mr Manton also says he is looking forward to the new challenges of retirement.
Arbory School has 171 pupils and has just celebrated its 175th anniversary.
