Contractor used to carry out drainage work
Drainage work will be carried out on Richmond Hill in an effort to deal with issues of water on the carriageway.
Preparation work has been started today (5 May) with trenches being dug and site set-up work being undertaken.
Two way traffic lights will be in place 24-hours a day until 11 May.
The main part of the scheme – which will see the installation of new drainage pipes down the hill and across the carriageway – will be started on 20 May.
The Department of Infrastructure has appointed a contractor to carry out the work which is expected to take two months to complete.
Richmond Hill will remain open to two way traffic throughout the works but one lane will be closed at a time with the lights returning for the main project.
There will also be a temporary 30 mph speed limit during the period of the works.
