The rising cost of building materials will affect future works on one of the island's most prominent landmarks.
Yesterday, Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer and Lady Lorimer made their first official visit to the Queen's Pier in Ramsey.
Both met with members of the Queen's Pier Restoration Trust to find out what progress is being made on the long-term plans to restore the structure.
Trustee and Treasurer for the Trust, Graham Curphey, says they haven't felt the sting yet as they're well prepared.
