Manx Gas engineers have repaired a gas leak just outside Douglas on the Peel Road.
Traffic was restricted to single-file during the day while the road between Braddan Bridge and Snugborough trading estate was dug up to isolate the gas main.
The road was fully open in both directions by early evening, but further repairs to the surface won't be carried out until Monday, as the tar needed has to be brought in from the United Kingdom.
