Glen Road in Laxey suffers 'severe damage'
Roads in the north and east of the Island have been reopening since about 2.30pm, following the heavy rain and flooding earlier in the day.
The Laxey Coast Road was the first to do so, followed by Little Mill Road in Onchan and the Creg ny Baa back road.
Police have issued a further update on Twitter which says Glen Road in Laxey has suffered 'severe damage' due to flooding, with major damage to the houses which line it.
In addition, they say access for residents is a priority, but they are not sure if the road will be able to be fully opened any time soon.
The Department of Infrastructure issued this update on Twitter just before 5.30pm:
