Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan is reiterating he will be seeking re-election in Garff in September's general election.
Mr Rodan has represented the constituency for the past 16 years and was made speaker in 2006.
He had previously been minister for education and minister for health and social security.
Yesterday (Tuesday), he polled 12 votes in the election for a new President of Tynwald.
Mr Rodan is congratulating Clare Christian, who topped the ballot with 20 votes, and says she will be an excellent presiding officer and ambassador for Tynwald and the Isle of Man.
He is also thanking the members who supported him, including his proposer Phil Gawne MHK and seconder Juan Turner MLC for their supportive words.
There are two candidates for the single seat in Garff so far, the other being Nigel Dobson of the Liberal Vannin Party.
