Ronaldsway Met Office is now predicting temperatures are likely to fall below freezing from around 5pm.
Forecasters warn this will lead to widespread ice on untreated surfaces.
Towards the end of the night, milder air could increase temperatures slightly, but will remain sub-zero over the hills.
