Royal Navy specialists remove Willaston ordnance

Police confirm items have been dealt with

World War II shells found in a garden in Willaston have been removed by specialist teams from the Royal Navy.

Officers arrived on the Island this evening after the ordnance was discovered by labourers at an address on Watterson Lane yesterday.

The Isle of Man Constabulary confirmed shortly after 6pm that the naval personnel have removed the items.

The police are thanking the Civil Defence for assisting in guarding the scene overnight, as well as the residents affected by the incident.
