Rushen MHK to stand for re-election in September

Michelle Haywood has represented the constituency since 2021

A Rushen MHK has announced her intention to stand for re-election in September.

Michelle Haywood was first elected to represent the constituency in 2021.

She says she hopes to build on her experience and knowledge from her first term if re-elected adding her priorities would be the economy, housing and infrastructure.

"Serving as an MHK since 2021 has been a great privilege but also a responsibility that I have taken seriously, particularly at times when trust in politics is often under strain.

"It is a role serving the public unlike any other.

"I have tirelessly sought to represent my local community honestly, openly and with determination." - Michelle Haywood

Also standing for election in Rushen are Laurence Vaughan-Williams and Simon Williams. 

The election will take place on Thursday, 24 September.
