Samaritans looking for new volunteers

Hopes to expand team in 2023

Isle of Man Samaritans is looking for new recruits to join its listening and support teams in 2023.

The charity already has around 70 volunteers but is keen to expand its team further.

Samaritans works with companies, associations, clubs and societies who can benefit from free 'Learn to Listen' sessions, along with general presentations about the work of the charity and the support available.

The Isle of Man branch of Samaritans was founded in 1979 by a group of local volunteers to help people in need.

Branch Director Mike Nudd is urging anybody who thinks they could contribute to come forward to discuss what opportunities are available.

It's not just listening volunteers that can help out but also people who feel they could provide outreach and administration support.

If you'd like to find out more about volunteering you can email samaritans@manx.net.
