School leaders should be valued better, says union head

General Secretary of ASCL visits Island

A union head says the school leaders he represents have seen real terms decreases in pay for a decade, and "it's time that they were valued better."

Geoff Barton is General Secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders, which has around 30 of its 19,000 members on the Isle of Man.

Mr Barton had a flying visit to the Island yesterday, for discussions with those members and the education department.
