Schools could stay open longer for children to 'finish their learning'

Term could extend past 8 May

Schools may stay open longer this year to help GCSE and A-level students achieve their potential.

The education minister says terms may be extended so children can ‘finish their learning’.

Last week it was announced that exams have been cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Instead grades will be awarded by schools in a ‘holistic’ way based on coursework, mock exams and classroom based tests.
