Fledgling future diplomats are meeting today (9 Dec) to grapple over bringing an end to the current conflict in Syria.
The Isle of Man United Nations Association is holding its annual mock Security Council summit at King William's College.
Sixth-formers from schools across the Island are gathering at the event, where they'll attempt to draft a resolution on the Syrian civil war.
Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney is taking the role of President of the Council, while delegates from Castle Rushen, St Ninian's, QE11, Ramsey Grammar and KWC will represent different nations with competing interests.
They'll be negotiating and voting throughout the day, simulating the role of the real UN.
Last year after much hard talking, the students reached a resolution - but today the hard work starts all over again.
