The sea around the Isle of Man is getting warmer.
That's the conclusion of the Government Laboratory and Port Erin Marine Laboratory after a number of years of monitoring the sea temperature.
Results show 2007 was the warmest since records began in 1904, with an increase of one degree Celsius over the last century, most of which has taken place in the past ten years.
Marine Scientist Theresa Shammon from the Government Laboratory says it may not sound much, but the effect on sea life can be significant (audio file attached):
