Seagull to head south?

The controversial seagull sculpture earmarked for North Quay, Douglas is about to do what many birds do, though it usually happens at the start of the winter.

Subject to planning apprival, it will be heading south, to the other side of the harbour, after it was decided that was a more suitable and spacious location.

The original location had been approved by planners but another application will have to be submitted for the new site, with a decision expected in a couple of months.

Douglas Development Partnership spokesman Chris Pycroft says more public art is planned for the quay area (audio file attached):
