Motorist suffered fracture to ankle and laceration to knee
A Ballasalla man will be sentenced next month after admitting causing a motorist serious bodily harm by driving without consideration.
Jeffrey Fargher pulled out of a junction into the path of an oncoming car on Orrisdale Road on 9 February.
The 37-year-old’s white Peugeot van hit the black Hyundai – significant damage was caused to both and emergency services were called.
Fargher, of Douglas Road, suffered a head injury in the collision – the other driver suffered a fracture dislocation to his ankle and a laceration to his knee.
At Douglas Courthouse this week Fargher’s probation officer told the court: "This was an error of judgement – a lack of concentration."
Fargher’s advocate added: "He has no recollection of this incident at all – he suffered a significant head injury."
Sentencing will take place on 6 September.
