Heysham crossing off today and four in doubt tomorrow
This morning's (8am) Manxman sailing to Heysham and its return leg (1:45pm) have been cancelled due to forecast adverse weather.
There are currently strong winds across the North Irish Sea due to a combination of low pressure near Iceland and high pressure in the mid-Atlantic, as various fronts and troughs affect the north of the British Isles.
According to Ronaldsway Met Office's latest shipping forecast, the wind today is 'west or northwest six or seven, soon decreasing five or six, backing west or southwest four or five in the evening, backing southwest five or six overnight into tomorrow'.
Meanwhile, for tomorrow that wind will veer' southwest five or six, quickly increasing six or seven, perhaps reaching gale eight, soon veering west five to seven'.
As a result, it also means a number of sailings tomorrow are now also at risk.
A final decision for the 8am sailing to Heysham and its return (1:45pm) will be made by 6am tomorrow, and a final decision for the 3pm Douglas to Liverpool sailing, and its return (7:15pm), will be made by 1pm tomorrow.
The Steam Packet Company says passengers may amend their bookings free of charge through their online account, or alternatively you can contact the Reservations Team on 01624 661661 or 08722 992992.
