Six vacancies on Health Services Consultative Committee

Only three members currently serving on board

A regulatory body for the Island's health and social care sector is advertising for six new members.

Ordinarily, nine people (chair, vice-chair and seven lay members) sit on the Health Services Consultative Committee.

However, currently only three members are serving on the board; Carol Bamford, Lee Clarke and Margaret Simpson.

A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Social Care has confirmed to Manx Radio five of the vacancies are as a result of resignations.

Members of the board ordinarily serve three year terms.

You can find more information on how to apply to the board HERE.

Last year, Health Minister Lawrie Hooper criticised the panel's annual report, while the committee's former chairman accused him of subjecting members to an 'hour-long rant'.

Following an investigation conducted by a member of the Manx bar, Mr Hooper was found not to have breached the ministerial code.

Earlier this week, after pressure in the House of Keys, the Chief Minister confirmed he will publish that report.
