Sixth candidate declares for Rushen

Gary Chambers hoping for a seat in the House of Keys

A sixth candidate has announced their intention to stand in Rushen in September's General Election.

Gary Chambers is a Port Erin commissioner and will be standing for the Liberal Vannin party.

He has also been employed by the Department of Infrastructure for 24 years, first as a bus driver and now as a Transport Supervisor.

If elected, he says some of his priorities will include affordable housing, food security, affordable energy and government transparency and accountability.

Gary says: "I have a real understanding of the issues that affect our community and the difficulties that ordinary people face in everyday life.

"I am standing as a candidate for the Liberal Vannin Party because I believe in the principles of democracy."

Also hoping to represent the constituency are Michael Crowe, Michelle Haywood, Mark Kemp, Laurence Vaughan-Williams and Simon Williams.

The General Election is taking place on Thursday 24 September.
