The Manx Museum has spent months refurbishing its prized giant deer skeleton, which has been on display for over a century

History will be brought to life in Douglas today (Sat) - through the bones of an 8,000-year-old beast.

The Manx Museum has spent months refurbishing its prized giant deer skeleton, which has been on display for over a century.

Heritage conservator Christopher Weeks will deliver a special lecture on it in the Museum's lecture theatre at 2:30 this afternoon.

The imposing creature's story - from its life and death in prehistoric Mann, to its Victorian preservation and modern-day conservation - will be told in full.

Christopher said it's an exciting time for the Museum:
